At Santa Fe Place, we are committed to providing opportunities to achieve the once unachievable and the supports to assure a life of quality and meaning.

Allowing a person to accomplish their goals and develop a sense of pride during that journey is what Santa Fe Place is dedicated to. Santa Fe Place is fosters the belief that when given a choice,  all people would choose options that give them dignity and independence. So many times throughout life, people with intellectual disabilities are treated as though they are helpless or children. Most people are unaware that treating people this way prevents them from reaching their full potential and hinders independence and can even feel demeaning at times. At Santa Fe Place, we understand that although your loved one may not be able to complete all of their self care or daily activities with complete independence (yet…), they CAN and SHOULD do as much as possible with only the level of help that is necessary. Our team is comprised of professionals who have a wide variety of expertise and years of experience in providing training and supports to people with intellectual disabilities. Feel free to explore the stories that our residents and families have shared about their experiences living at our homes.

Candace was the second resident to move in to Santa Fe Place. She has lived at Sierra house since 2007. Candace has Down's Syndrome and was unable to use language to express herself. Candace can now verbalize many of her wants, needs and emotions. She has many friends and has made a lot of progress both personally and socially. She has learned to take care of herself and how to adhere to a schedule. She is now working toward the skills needed for employment.
